Does this step fit you?

Who is the training for?

Experienced compliance specialists, money laundering agents and employees with tasks in international banking relations.

What prior knowledge do you need?

In-depth knowledge of customer and transaction verification as well as experience with reasoned case decisions; knowledge recommended according to level 4.

Your concrete added value

You practice the technical justification for conflicting information and economic pressure. The course strengthens the ability to accurately distinguish risk assumptions, special audit requirements and possible reporting issues and to explain them to other subject areas.

Complex case assessment · International relationships and reasoned decisions

That's what you're working on in this training.

  1. Reconstructing relations and sources of information

You represent a third country institution, its customer structure and the intended payment methods. Business data, audit reports and open statements are sorted according to their origin. It becomes clear which information relates to the bank itself and which information relates to the transactions mediated.

  2. Merge different test requirements

You work with the AMLR rules on cross-border correspondent banking relationships, increased risks and countermeasures. You explicitly hold the respective test time. General risk factors are distinguished from concretely applicable measures and autonomous sanctions.

  3. Developing a decision with counter-arguments

You compare several options for action and check which additional information would change the rating. The draft decision also deals with possible reporting issues and limits to the dissemination of information. For remaining legal issues, you develop a targeted search and clarification path.

Your learning goals

  • International banking relations by roles and sources of information.
  • Merge specific test requirements in a source-related manner.
  • Consider options for action with stressful and exhilarating circumstances.
  • Create a proposal for a decision with clearly identified uncertainties.

From knowledge to a well-founded case solution.

Fictional practice case · Banks

Third country bank with only partially comprehensible customer structures

A foreign institution wants to develop a correspondent banking relationship. Existing test reports initially seem plausible, but do not answer questions about certain indirect customer relationships. At the same time, economic urgency is invoked. You develop and compare technically justified procedures.

In focus: Correspondence bank audit, information gaps and documented weighing.

Your Exercise

Write a reasoned template for the technical release or further processing. Show for each option the supporting facts, counter-arguments and still needed information. Then you answer critical questions from different roles.

Your work result and proof of participation

A differentiated decision proposal with sources, options, counter-arguments and documented further clarification requirements.

How this relates to your daily work

You can bring complex international cases more structured into internal decision-making bodies. The method supports a well-founded coordination between the department and compliance, without concealing uncertainty through flat-rate approvals or rejections.

Planned: 5 hours of training. With space for application.

The planned pure training time is 300 minutes. It includes knowledge transfer, application at the practice case and joint evaluation. Breaks are added. The data are planning values; we coordinate the concrete process before the training.

You decide if you're going to take an additional exam.

Training is also possible without additional final examination. After completing your training you will receive a certificate of participation and a badge of participation. A proof of passing an examination requires successful participation in the voluntary supplementary examination.

Test format

Optional performance test: Complex decision proposal and expert discussion.

Your exam task

Justify your preferred approach and defend it against a plausible counterposition. The evaluation looks at source quality, classification of special requirements and the handling of remaining uncertainty.

This is what the evaluation depends on.

  • Specific requirements precisely assigned
  • Options well-founded
  • Uncertainty and sources transparent

Documentation of the test performance

After completing the training, you receive a participation certificate and a participation Badge for level 5. Passing the optional assessment is additionally documented by an assessment certificate.
